We will be having an open house for any parent who is interested in seeing our Black History Art Responses & the video drama interpretations of Follow the Drinking Gourd.  The open house will be from 8:15-8:45... hope to see you then.

It is hard to believe but March Break is only a few weeks away.  Below is a list of the upcoming assignments and units that we will be covering in class:

It is only a four day week but there is lots going on in grade 5 this week.  In addition to what is being taught in the classroom we are also going to have a dance instructor come in on Monday and Thursday as well as our Skating trip to the MasterCard Centre.   Below is what we are doing in the classroom:

Etobicoke Field Studies Centre


We are going to be leaving for our field trip right after the morning announcements.  Can you please ensure that your child brings appropriate clothing (snowpants, boots, gloves, hat, winter coat, indoor shoes) and a "Litterless" lunch.  We will be returning back to the school before the end of the day.

We will be having our Government Unit Test on Monday.  Below are the items that may be included on the test:


  • Types of Government- Monarchy, Dictatorship, Democracy, Constitutional Monarchy
  • Being a Canadian Citizen- Charter of Rights and Freedoms, BNA Act, Citizen's Rights, Responsibilities of Citizens, Becoming A Citizen
